Product Description

Closed circuit cooling tower, also known as evaporative cooling tower, encloses tubular heat exchangers inside the tower. It achieves effective cooling through heat exchange between flowing air, spray water and circulating water. Featuring a closed circulation design, it keeps the water quality free from contamination, ensures the main equipment operates efficiently and extends its service life. When the ambient temperature is low, the spray water system can be shut down to save water. Against the backdrop of global energy conservation, emission reduction initiatives and growing water scarcity, closed circuit cooling towers have been widely adopted in industries such as iron and steel metallurgy, power and electronics, mechanical processing and air conditioning systems in recent years.

Working Principle

A closed circuit cooling tower is essentially a combination of an evaporative cooler and a wet cooling tower. Adopting a horizontal structure, it allows process fluid to flow inside the tubes while air circulates outside, with the two media kept completely separated. It is an upgraded and improved version of traditional cooling towers.
Water from the reservoir at the tower bottom is pumped and evenly sprayed over the exterior of the heat exchange tubes. Since the process fluid such as hot water or refrigerant never comes into direct contact with outside air, it forms a fully closed circulating system. The sprayed water greatly enhances heat and mass transfer efficiency to achieve the desired cooling effect.
